We're hiring one full-time permanent operator and two casuals to join the team at our Waste Transfer Stations. This isn't just about machineryit's about people. With over 160,000 residents coming through our gates each year, you'll be the face of Litchfield Council, helping the community do the right thing when it comes to waste and recycling.

This role suits someone who takes pride in their presentation, enjoys talking to people, and isn't afraid to step in and enforce the rules (in a friendly, respectful way of course!). We need rule-followers with people skillsbecause protecting our EPA licence means making sure no one's dumping anything they shouldn't be.

The day to day

You'll operate plant (forklift, loader, backhoe), help residents offload, answer questions, monitor and report improper items, and follow WHS practices with daily checks and routine maintenance. Work is rostered across Monday-Sunday and can involve rotating sites. The role includes manual tasks (lifting up to around 20kg) and use of two‑way radios.

You'll need to:

• Be comfortable with physical/manual work
• Know your way around machines like forklifts and loaders
• Enjoy chatting to residents and offering helpful advice
• Be confident, clear, and calm when enforcing rules
• Present yourself professionally every day
• Be reliable, safety-focused, and team-minded

What you'll bring

• A current C‑Class licence
• NT White Card
• Forklift Licence
• First Aid Certificate
