At Monkey Minds, we take a child-centred, holistic approach to early intervention. We believe in working with the whole child, encompassing their communication, social connections, sensory world, family context, and learning environment, rather than focusing on isolated goals. Our team collaborates across disciplines (OT, psychologists, educators, etc.), coaching families and embedding therapy into daily life.

We are now seeking a passionate Speech Therapist to join our growing team and help shape how we deliver early intervention in Dromana.

The Role & What You’ll Do

You will:

• Provide speech, language, social communication, assessment and intervention for young children 3-10 years

• Use a holistic, family-centred approach: coach caregivers, embed strategies in natural environments, support generalisation

• Work within a transdisciplinary/collaborative model, liaising with OTs, behaviour support, educators, support workers, and other professionals

• Support augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) where required

• Work onsite at our studio in Dromana or outreach in childcare / early education settings, or community settings (as required)

• Maintain clear and timely documentation, progress reports, and collaborate in goal setting with families

• Contribute to staff meetings, case reviews, supervision, and professional development

• Be flexible and responsive to changing caseloads and family needs

 What We’re Looking For

Essential

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech Pathology / Speech Therapy (or equivalent)

2. Registration/membership with Speech Pathology Australia (or relevant body)

3. Demonstrated experience (or strong interest) in working with young children with developmental delays or disabilities

4. Commitment to family-centred, capacity-building, holistic intervention

5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially in coaching caregivers

6. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment

7. Strong organisational and time management skills

Desirable / Advantageous

• Experience or training in AAC, dysphagia, and early communication interventions

• Experience working in early childhood, special education, or community services

• Base Salary: Competitive, depending on experience + superannuation
