Join the University of Wollongong (UOW) as our next Senior Manager, Philanthropy & Impact, and play a pivotal role in transforming lives and communities through education, research, and innovation.
About the Role: As Senior Manager, Philanthropy & Impact, you’ll work closely with the Associate Director, Advancement to develop and implement strategies that drive philanthropic support for the University's strategic priorities. You’ll lead a high-performing team, manage a portfolio of major donors, and help grow a culture of philanthropy across UOW.
This is an exciting opportunity to:Drive strategy and execution of UOW’s philanthropic vision across scholarships, research, and community impact.Lead a dedicated Donor Relations and Fundraising team to achieve ambitious fundraising goals.Design and deliver impactful major gift, bequest, and donor stewardship programs.Build long-term relationships with donors, alumni, academics, and university partners.Work at a globally connected university known for research excellence and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:Develop donor engagement strategies, proposals, and stewardship programs.Lead and inspire a team of fundraising professionals to deliver on fundraising and stewardship targets.Secure major philanthropic gifts aligned with university priorities.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities, conduct research and deliver acknowledgement and reporting.Oversee fundraising communications, donor events, reporting, and data analysis.Contribute to the strategic growth of the University’s Advancement program.
What You Bring:Minimum 5 years’ experience in philanthropy, fundraising or strategic growth roles, with success in securing major gifts or external funding.Minimum 2 years’ experience managing and developing high-performing teams.Demonstrated ability in exceptional relationship-building, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.Proven project and budget management expertise.High emotional intelligence, integrity, and cultural awareness.Flexibility to attend events outside normal business hours and travel to engage with donors.
