This position is classified as a PACS Band 5 ($78,485 -
$85,493 p.a) under the City of Kwinana’s structured
remuneration system.

What’s On Offer

A rewarding opportunity has been created for a suitably qualified and experienced Ranger to join our team at the City of Kwinana.

This new position will be primarily responsible for supporting the management and lead the operation of the City’s animal

management facility (Pound), including management of impounded animal returns and rehoming and may be required to undertake all aspects of Ranger services.

It will also provide a level of administrative support to the Essential Services Department and be engaged in the department’s community education

activities.

As our new Ranger you will provide a high level of customer
service and support to the local community in attending to matters
relating to animal management, parking control, public
thoroughfares, property compliance, security at City facilities and
assistance during an emergency event.

What You’ll Need
To make an impact in
this role, the successful candidate will have:

  1. Previous experience managing and/ or maintaining the
    operations of an animal management facility.
  2. Previous experience in ranger operations with the ability
    to interpret and implement relevant Acts, Local Laws and
    Regulations.
  3. Sound experience in dealing with the community with an
    ability to provide a high standard of customer service through
    communication, negotiation, conflict resolution and
    investigative skills.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment as well
    as working independently with limited supervision.
  5. Well-developed organisational, time management and computer
    literacy skills.
  6. Possession of a Municipal Law Enforcement Certificate (A
    and B) or Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills (ROCS 1 and
    2).
  7. Possession of a Driver’s Licence, Police Clearance
    and First Aid Certificate.
  8. Desirable: Certificate IV in Local
    Government (Regulatory Services) and Certificate in Firearms
    Handling and Safety and proficiency in the use of
    firearms.
