AIC Mines owns the Eloise Copper Mine located near Cloncurry, QLD. Eloise is an underground mine with conventional crush-grind-float processing to produce a high-quality copper-gold concentrate. AIC Mines has recently commenced development of the nearby Jericho Mine, marking a significant expansion of the Eloise operation. The Company also owns a portfolio of copper and gold exploration projects located across Australia.

About the Role
The Project Superintendent will play a pivotal leadership role in managing the engineering function for the Jericho underground development. Reporting to the Mine Manager, you will oversee the planning, design, and execution of key infrastructure and operational readiness projects.
The first year will focus heavily on project delivery, with a transition into an ongoing operational leadership role managing the engineering team and driving continuous improvement. You will also serve as the alternate Underground Manager as required.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead short- and mid-term mine planning for the Jericho development.
· Manage contractor performance with a focus on rapid development delivery.
· Oversee mine design, scheduling, and budgeting to align with quarterly forecasts.
· Deliver key project elements including ventilation, shaft excavation, and pumping infrastructure.
· Ensure engineering designs meet statutory safety and compliance standards.
· Collaborate with the Environment team to ensure ongoing compliance.
· Drive cost control and maximise value from departmental budgets.
· Continuously improve engineering systems, productivity, and processes.
· Maintain strong contractor and stakeholder engagement across departments.
· Champion a proactive safety and risk management culture.
Roster and Location
This position is offered on a FIFO (8:6 roster) basis from Cairns, Townsville, or Brisbane, or DIDO from Cloncurry/Mount Isa. Onsite accommodation is provided at Eloise Copper Mine.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.

Proven leadership experience in underground metalliferous mining.

Strong technical knowledge in mine planning, ventilation design, and mining methods.

Demonstrated success managing engineering teams and complex projects.

Solid financial acumen including budgeting and cost management.

Experience working with and managing contractors.

Proficiency in Deswik and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Comprehensive understanding of QLD mining legislation.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Eligibility (or working towards eligibility) to act as an Underground Manager under QLD Mining Regulations.
