Murray Irrigation Limited (MIL) is the largest private environmental and irrigation water delivery company in Australia, formed as an unlisted public company in March 1995 when the NSW Government privatised its Murray irrigation area and districts. The company’s irrigators are also shareholders and include 2,100 landholdings across 724,000 hectares in the Southern Riverina.

MIL’s Water Risk Committee is seeking to appoint an independent expert, non-director member of the Water Risk Committee, to help shape the future of water as a tradable soft commodity.

This consulting opportunity offers a unique chance to provide valuable insights into MIL’s water asset trading business at a critical time for MIL and the agricultural industry.

We’re looking for someone with significant experience in agribusiness and soft commodity trading, specifically in cereal & pulses, cotton, sugar or beef. The ideal candidate will possess sharp strategic thinking, a keen eye for market trends and familiarity with Australian water frameworks. Additionally, proven expertise in governance and compliance is essential.
