           OPERATION AND MANAGEMENT – GOLD COAST SENIORS TENNIS CLUB

Expressions of interest are invited for appointment as Manager/Operator of the Gold Coast Seniors Tennis Club

GCSTC is one of the most successful tennis clubs in Australia and is situated at Mermaid Waters on the Gold Coast.  It has 14 Synthetic grass courts, 1 Hard court (currently used by Pickleball), 2 hotshot courts, 1 clubhouse with a licenced bar, coffee shop and pro shop, a satellite clubhouse, BBQ area and attractive well maintained grounds.  GCSTC has a solid membership base and a high utilisation rate with organised fixtures and social tennis, coaching and our Members only annual club championships.

We also host tournaments which includes GCS Annual May GCS tournament as well as hosting State  and National tournaments along with the Pan Pacs, University Games and the Masters games.

The Manager is accountable to the Club’s Management Committee and is responsible for:

1.        Ensuring that the venue operates in a sustainable manner whilst offering a safe, inclusive environment that promotes a healthy lifestyle.

2.        The day-to-day management of the club in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract.

3.        Developing initiatives to stimulate growth in club membership and promote tennis in the wider community.

4.        Operating and stocking the Club Bar.

5.        Daily court hire and bookings including online Bookings.

6.        Coffee shop with varied food options.

7.        Day to day maintenance and presentation of the facility including grounds, lighting, courts, minor repairs and security.

8.        Operating Pro Shop.

9.        Tennis coaching and ensuring the delivery of tennis programs and services.

10.    Running regional and Sanctioned tournaments on tournament software.

11.    Liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal operator will have:

-            A strong commercial focus.

-            Proven ability and experience in managing a Tennis facility with staff and coaches or experience in running a like minded business (A Management degree would be considered advantageous but not essential).

-            A strong tennis background.

-            A high level of motivation in running a 7 day a week business

-            Strong interpersonal skills.

-            A desired TA coaching qualification.

-            A blue Card certification in working with children.

-            First Aid Certificate.

Contract

-            A Management/Operating agreement will be implemented between the successful applicant and the Gold Coast Seniors Tennis Club.
