Position Description
A new casual position has recently been created within our Open Space & Recreation team for a fit, hardworking individual to work as a Labourer during the summer period.
Qualifications and Experience
- The applicant needs to have a positive attitude with a good work ethic and be physically fit for working outdoors.
- The role will provide labouring support to assist in the maintenance and care of all of Council’s horticultural recreational assets.

The position would suit a high school leaver wanting work over the summer period prior to attending further education in the New Year.
Salary and Conditions
- The position is Grade 2 in Council’s salary system – $34.10 per hour (casual rate for 18 years of age and above).
- Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award.
- Prior to commencement, the successful applicant will be required to undergo and successfully pass a “Functional Assessment” which includes an Alcohol and Other Drugs screening and a Hearing Test.
