We have an exciting opportunity for an Independent Chairperson to lead the Wagga to Ladysmith Rail Trail Steering Committee.
The Committee has been established to provide strategic direction, oversight, and advice for the development of the proposed Wagga Wagga to Ladysmith Rail Trail. The Committee will ensure alignment with the NSW Rail Trails Framework, Council resolutions, and regional priorities, while providing an avenue for broad community input and a forum for communication and consultation between landowners, the community, Council, and government representatives.
Duties of this position will include but are not limited to
- Chairing meetings of the Rail Trail Steering Committee.
- Guiding the committee to ensure fair, balanced, and inclusive discussion and decision making.
- Facilitating engagement and collaboration across diverse stakeholders, including community, landowners, proponents, and government representatives.
- Ensuring the committee’s advice and recommendations are clearly documented for Council’s consideration.
What you will need to succeed
- Demonstrated experience in chairing committees, boards, or stakeholder groups.
- Strong leadership, facilitation, and communication skills.
- A clear understanding of governance principles and the advisory role of committees to Council.
- An ability to work constructively and impartially with a broad range of stakeholders.
