Role Overview
As a Senior Hydraulic Fitter, you will be at the heart of our operations and will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining hydraulic systems and components. This is a hands-on role requiring technical expertise and problem-solving skills to ensure systems function efficiently and safely. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality service to our clients, ensuring their machinery and equipment is running at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair hydraulic components and systems including pumps, valves, motors, cylinders, and hoses according to technical specifications
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic system issues and carry out necessary repairs or modifications
- Perform safety inspections and preventative maintenance on hydraulic systems and equipment
- Fitment, programming and servicing of truck mounted cranes
- Some fitting/machining as required for repairs or component manufacture
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to improve system designs and performance
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
- Maintain accurate service records and reports
- Manage your labour productivity to achieve agreed targets
Experience & Qualifications:
- Highly skilled & proven experience as a Senior Hydraulic Fitter in an industrial or mechanical engineering environment
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, components, and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Cert IV in Engineering Mechanical with certifications/qualifications in Fluid Power
- Leadership/supervisory experience within a hands-on role highly regarded
- Drivers licence required
