POSITION

We have a full-time position for a Fruit Farm Worker available in Bellenden Ker, Queensland 4871.

SKILLS

The role requires you to have at least 1 year of relevant work experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your role as a Fruit Farm Worker is to perform routine tasks as directed to assist in the cultivation of various tropical fruits.

TASKS

The position will require you to perform the following tasks:

  • Meeting with farm manager to receive assigned tasks.
  • Collecting and preparing equipment for daily use.
  • Completing any prestart machinery checklists.
  • Operating farm equipment and machinery to complete tasks such as slashing, application of fertilisers, herbicides and pesticides.
  • Operating orchard netting machine to place and spread protection netting.
  • Operating cherry picker to harvest and prune fruit trees.
  • Transporting harvested produce across the farm.
  • Sorting, grading and packing fruits.
  • Weighing, stacking, strapping and labelling produce for storage and distribution.
  • Loading packed produce and transporting to freight depots and market outlets.
  • Maintenance and repair of irrigation lines and sprinklers.
  • Grafting fruit trees and caring for them in the nursery.
  • Cleaning, sterilising, and maintaining equipment and machinery.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment for handling and mixing chemicals.
  • Reporting completed tasks to the farm manager.
  • Additional duties may be required from time to time as required by the business.

SALARY

The salary offered will be $65,000 to $75,000 per annum negotiated based on your experience.
