Title: Apprentice Greenkeeper

Position Overview:
To learn and develop into a skilled Greenkeeper. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Members, hotel guests, employees and all members of the general public.

Key Accountabilities
In line with the learning outcomes and course requirements of the Certificate 111 in Sports Turf Management and under the supervision of qualified Greenkeepers onsite you will be trained in the following over the duration of your Apprenticeship until completion.
- Assist in the cutting of tees, fairways, rough, semi rough and turf areas of the hotel
- Assist the green keeper set up the golf course, including changing holes, moving the tee markers, indicating OOB, drop zones and hazards
- Assist in coring, scarifying and dusting greens
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with managers, colleagues and guests.
- Operating all necessary machinery to maintain the golf course hotel and outlying properties belonging to the owner.
- Recognise and report turf diseases weeds and pests
- Assist in establishing and maintaining turf, plants and gardens on or around the golf course, hotel and outlying properties belonging to the owner.
- Promoting the Health and Safety of self and others by adhering to the WHS policies
- Notify supervisor of any issues that may arise in relation to the golf course hotel and outlying properties belonging to the owner.
- Attend scheduled TAFE days per semester until completion.
- Notify Supervisor and TAFE if unable to attend prior to start time.
