State schools registered nurses apply innovative training methods and network within a school setting to build capability and empower school staff to safely perform health procedures. The position is prioritised to be based in Mount Isa, however, with negotiation may be based in Townsville. This is a temporary part-time role (0.7FTE or 53.2 hours per fortnight) for a period of 6 months, unless otherwise determined.

State schools registered nurses play a pivotal role in connecting schools with health specialists to create a safe supportive environment for students with health needs. Using advanced critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills, they provide tailored services to primary, secondary and special schools breaking down barriers to enhance wellbeing and bridging the gap between health care and education.
