Job description and hours

HLCS is currently recruiting for casual Disability Support Workers to join our SIL team in our mission to empower our clients in achieving their NDIS goals and realizing their life aspirations. You will be supporting an individual with vascular dementia, so we are looking to recruit individuals who have experience supporting an individual with vascular dementia.

The shifts we have on offer are SIL shifts Monday to Sunday with a 24/7 roster

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring compliance with the service agreement requirements of each funded package and meeting all specified deadlines
• Assisting participants in attaining positive outcomes aligned with their personal goals as outlined in their NDIS plan.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation.
• Working independently within the community or the participant's home.
• Actively participating in corporate and community events.
• Transporting participants to various services and appointments
• Delivering high-quality support to participants with varying levels of needs.
• Providing detailed reports after each shift.
• Undertaking additional tasks as assigned by the manager.

By fulfilling these responsibilities, you will contribute to the overall well-being and progress of our participants, ensuring their satisfaction and success in their NDIS journey.

Your position details:

• Employment Type: Casual
• Hourly Rate: $43.23 per hour plus applicable penalty rates as per the SCHADS Award
• Location: Toowoomba

As a casual employee, you will enjoy flexibility in your work schedule while receiving a competitive hourly rate. The role will be based in Toowoomba, allowing you to provide support to participants within this community.

Essentials:

The successful candidate will also be required to possess or have the ability to obtain the following:

• NDIS Worker Screening clearance
• Blue Card
• Queensland Drivers Licence - as supporting this participant involves driving the company bus it is mandatory to have a Queensland Drivers Licence
• Comprehensive car insurance
• First Aid and CPR certificates
• NDIS Workers' Orientation module completion
• Minimum two years mental health and/or dementia experience (mandatory)

These additional qualifications and clearances are necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of our participants, as well as to comply with regulatory and organizational requirements.
