Mary MacKillop Childcare North Queensland (MMCNQ) is committed to providing high-quality education and care services to families throughout the Townsville region. We have grown to include 5 Early Learning Centres, 9 Kindergartens and 14 Outside School Hours Care centres across the Diocese of Townsville, spanning from Ingham in the North to Proserpine in the South, Mount Isa in the West, and Palm Island to the East. 

The Role
As our Administration Officer – Services, you’ll provide responsive, flexible, site-based administrative support across multiple childcare locations within Townsville. You’ll work closely with Service Leaders and the broader MMCNQ Administration Team to ensure seamless enrolment processes, effective communication with families, accurate record keeping, and strong operational compliance — all critical to the success of our services.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, values accuracy, and is passionate about supporting community-focused services.

This position can be offered as either permanent part-time (30 hours/week) or full-time (38 hours/week), depending on your availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist families and staff with enrolments, waitlists, Child Care Subsidy (CCS) queries, and documentation.
  • Manage daily and ongoing children’s bookings and coordinate Vacation Care planning.
  • Maintain accurate administrative records in line with legislation and organisational policies.
  • Monitor service email inboxes and respond to queries from families, staff, and colleagues.
  • Support local promotion of enrollment and program opportunities to boost community engagement.
  • Work collaboratively across service sites to identify and resolve administrative issues.
  • Build positive relationships with families and staff through clear and respectful communication.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in administrative roles, ideally in education, childcare, or community services.
  • Willingness to undertake training and ongoing professional development.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and online systems (childcare platforms desirable).
  • Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements in childcare (desirable).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to build rapport with families and teams.
