Gold Fields Australia is currently seeking a Technician: Communications to join their Underground Maintenance department at Agnew Gold Mine. Reporting to the Electrical Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing quality and timely preventative maintenance and repairs of the surface and underground communications and telemetry network facilities.

This role is offered on 8 days on, 6 days off roster FIFO from Perth.

About the role:

Practice preventative maintenance through scheduled inspections, servicing, adjustments, troubleshooting and timely repair of communication and telemetry equipmentProvide reliable and accurate maintenance knowledge, expertise and practical application of RF radio, fibre optic, coaxial data and telemetry networksMaximize return on assets through effective performance and reliability of the respective equipment and toolsMaintain a working knowledge of all task instructions and procedures and ensure that these are consistently adhered to when carrying out maintenance tasksExecution of the communications plan for AgnewComplete all administrative processing requirements associated with maintenance dutiesDemonstrate full compliance with the OHS and Environmental Systems standards

Key factors to your success include:

Tertiary qualification in IT, Communications and or Instrumentation and/or Instrumentation and or CommunicationDemonstrated experience in radio communications, telemetry networks and maintenanceExtensive knowledge of communications technologies and equipmentMining industry experience essential Senior First Aid, EWP, Forklift and Working at Heights certificates are desirable
