Location: Crib Point, VIC 
Position: Early Childhood Teacher/Educational Leader  
Employment Type: Part Time 37.5hrs per week, Monday-Friday
Commencing in January 2026. 

Nestled within the Navy base at HMAS Cerberus, just an hour's drive Southeast of Melbourne, is a nurturing childcare center. Set amidst the Cerberus Golf Course, this place offers various services, including long day care, kindergarten, nursery, toddler room, and pre-school. With a capacity for 54 children, it operates from 6:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Additionally, we proudly offer a funded kindergarten program, enriching the educational experience for our young learners.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Early Childhood Teacher/ Educational Leader to join our team supporting our kindergarten program and service.

This position offers a balance of teaching and leadership, with 7.5 hours per week allocated off the floor to undertake Educational Leader responsibilities and support high-quality practice across the service. 

About the Role

• 37.5 hours per week
• 7.5 hours per week off the floor dedicated to Educational Leader duties
• Supporting and leading the kindergarten room
• Working collaboratively with educators to implement high-quality programs and curriculum
• Mentoring and supporting educators to strengthen teaching practice
• Ensuring child safety, wellbeing, and inclusion are embedded in all practices

About You
You are a motivated and professional Early Childhood Teacher who:

• Has at least 1 year experience working in a kindergarten or early childhood setting
• Demonstrates strong teamwork, reliability, and flexibility
• Has excellent program and curriculum knowledge, aligned with the EYLF and VEYLDF
• Is confident supporting and guiding educators in their practice
• Has a strong commitment to child safety, wellbeing, and inclusive practice
• Builds positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or equivalent)
• Current VIT registration
• Current National Police Check
• Sound understanding of child safety standards and mandatory reporting obligations
• Current first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training

• Salary under the Teachers Award: $40 – $47 per hour, depending on experience
