Cook with purpose in a role that truly impacts people’s everyday lives.

We are looking for a talented and experienced casual cook to partner with our knowledgeable disability support workers & registered nurses to create and provide nutritional meals for our participants at our 15-bed residential service in Balgownie. As the cook, you will coordinate and prepare high-quality meals for our participants in accordance with set meal plans. You will work with specialised diets, including supplements and texture-modified foods. You will also work collaboratively with Disability Support Workers and Registered Nurses to ensure meals meet participant’s needs, while maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, washing dishes, and managing ordering and shopping within a set budget.

As the successful candidate, you will possess:

  • Experience working as a cook in Health Care environments
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Knowledge and experience with various special dietary requirements and temperature checks
  • Reliability, punctuality and the ability to work independently
  • Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene, cleanliness standards and safe food-handling practices
  • Experience managing food ordering and shopping within a set budget
  • A respectful and empathetic approach when working with people with disabilities, their families and colleagues
  • Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
  • A cleared Working with Children Check (WWCC) & NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC)
