We are looking for experienced stablehands to join our team at Mornington. We are seeking people with prior experience – this is not a position for learners or beginners.

Key duties include:

• Hosing horses after trackwork
• Swimming horses
• Mucking out boxes
• Providing feed, hay and water
• Trotting up horses for the trainer and vet
• Raceday attendances when required
• General yard and barn maintenance (sweeping, tidying etc.)

Working hours:

• Monday to Saturday mornings: 5:00am – 10:30am
• Sunday mornings: 7:00am – 10:30am
• Afternoons: 2:30pm – 4:30pm (daily)
• Roster includes rotating Sundays off

Wages are paid above Award rates.

Important notes:

• We do not provide accommodation. This is a commutable position only (suitable for those already living within a reasonable daily travel distance to Mornington).
• We are not seeking applicants on Working Holiday Visas who need this role to count towards the 88 days regional/specified work requirement.
