At Sydney Health & Care Services (SHCS), we support people to live with dignity, choice, and independence. We're growing our Illawarra team and seeking experienced Sleepover Disability Support Workers focused on personal and high care.
What you'll do
- Provide safe, person-centred support during sleepover shifts across SIL homes and community settings.
- Deliver personal & high-care supports, including:
- Showering and personal hygiene
- Medication support per policy
- Apply prescribed topical treatments to intimate areas in line with the care plan, consent, and infection-control standards
- Extensive toilet care and continence assistance
- Exercise/therapy assistance as directed by clinicians/family
- Manual handling/hoisting and mobility assistance
- Complete clear documentation (shift notes, medication/continence charts, incident notes where required).
- Work closely with family stakeholders to uphold routines, preferences, and goals.
Shifts
- Sleepovers available 7 days per week (rostered coverage across weekdays, weekends, and public holidays).
- Option to pick up additional day/afternoon shifts when available.
What you'll bring (Must-haves)
- Minimum 12 months demonstrated experience in personal care and high-care support (manual handling, mobility, medication, toileting).
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, and First Aid & CPR.
- Valid Australian driver's licence (minimum Class C) and reliable, insured vehicle.
- Strong documentation skills, reliability, and professional boundaries.
- Right to work in Australia and current National Police Check.
Highly regarded (Nice-to-haves)
- Certificate III/IV in Individual Support/Disability (or related).
- Hoist/manual handling competencies; medication competency.
- Complex Bowel Care training (valued but not required).
- Experience in disability and/or Home Care environments.
