The Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Painter to join our team on a full-time basis.

Position: Painter, Full time

Salary: $76,515 /per annum

Location: Queanbeyan NSW 2620

Key Responsibilities:

• Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc.

• Read instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary

• Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc.

• Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right colour or texture

• Select and prepare paints to require colours by mixing portions of pigment, oil and thinning and drying substances

• Apply paints, varnishes and stains to surfaces using brushes, rollers and sprays

• Inspect and refurbish wall surfaces by means of appropriate materials

• Operate and maintain high pressure low volume spray machines.

• Clean equipment and work areas

• Follow safety procedures and comply with workplace health and safety regulations

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in painting or related trades

• Certificate III or IV in Painting and Decorating (preferred but not essential)

• Sound knowledge of painting tools, materials, and safety procedures

• Strong attention to detail and time management skills

• Reliable, punctual, and positive attitude

• Only Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents will be considered for this position
