The Role

The Search & AI Optimisation Manager is responsible for rapidly accelerating and owning Search Engine and AI Optimisation outputs for the Aged Care Decisions and Care Decisions brands across both retrieval SEO and Generative Discovery by ensuring that our vertical knowledge is fully represented within the reasoning process of AI. You will be a fundamental part of maximising AI Overview visibility, building unbeatable topical authority, building brand trust and driving high-intent organic conversions through structured, expert-level content for Home Care, Aged Care and Disability Care (NDIS).

The role is responsible for driving Aged Care Decisions and Care Decisions organic discoverability, authority, and visibility across all search surfaces, including traditional SERPs, AI Overviews, conversational search engines, and emerging search ecosystems. This role combines content intelligence, content optimisation, AI-driven optimisation, reputation authority building and technical SEO knowledge to ensure our brands consistently appear, rank and are recommended in the key aged care, home care and disability care moments that matter.

Whether the placement timeline is relaxed or urgent, our service can accommodate.  Care Decisions (CD) offers a similar system navigation and provider matching service in the disability (NDIS) space.

Aged Care Reviews (ACR) is Australia’s largest residential aged care consumer review website. It offers families information and resources to help them make informed decisions when investigating and shortlisting aged care providers. It acts as a valuable marketing channel for ACD.

What you will be doing

  • Owning and delivering an AI-driven organic search strategy across Google Search, AI Overviews, Bing Copilot, ChatGPT Browse, Perplexity, YouTube and voice search

  • Building and maintaining entity-based SEO architecture to strengthen how our brands are understood, indexed and recommended by AI systems

  • Prioritising high-intent search topics that drive organic leads, conversions and authority

  • Leading Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO), treating content as structured knowledge that AI systems can consume, reference and cite

  • Developing and scaling topic networks and content ecosystems to establish deep topical authority

  • Translating search and AI insights into editorial priorities, working closely with written content and multi-media content production team members.

  • Optimising content for AI summaries, structured data, SERP features and experience-rich results

  • Maintaining content quality and credibility through E-E-A-T optimisation, schema and fact validation through partnering with the Digital Content Producer – Written.

  • Delivering hands-on optimisations in WordPress and Elementor, including templates and page builds

  • Partnering with marketing technology partners to deliver technical SEO, performance and discoverability improvements

  • Overseeing crawlability, indexing, site structure, Core Web Vitals, accessibility and multimodal optimisation

  • Driving authority and reputation signals including reviews, citations, mentions and inbound links

  • Managing & driving digital PR opportunities and off-site presence across platforms such as Reddit, Quora and local search profiles

  • Owning advanced SEO and AI-visibility reporting, measuring visibility, credibility, topical authority and ROI

  • Running continuous experimentation across landing pages, metadata, entities, content formats and search surfaces

  • Providing forward-looking insights to guide growth strategy, content investment and customer outcomes

Who are you?

  • You bring deep, hands-on expertise in SEO, on-page optimisation and content-led search performance

  • You have strong knowledge of AI-era search, including entity SEO, schema, structured data, AI surfacing and content extraction formats

  • You have solid technical SEO foundations, including indexing, internal linking, site architecture, Core Web Vitals, accessibility and crawl governance

  • You’re confident using AI and automation tools for research, clustering, optimisation, monitoring and large-scale analysis

  • You understand how authority signals (E-E-A-T, citations, reviews, reputation and digital PR) influence rankings and AI recommendations

  • You’ve successfully driven organic growth in competitive categories, either agency-side or in a commercial in-house role

  • You’re experienced partnering closely with content teams, briefing and reviewing authority-grade written, video and multimodal content

  • You have a data-driven, commercial mindset, able to translate insights into outcomes such as lead growth, conversion and ROI

  • You’re comfortable building dashboards, forecasting organic performance and measuring impact beyond rankings alone

  • You’re highly skilled in modern SEO and content optimisation tools and know how to get the most out of CMS platforms like WordPress

  • You’re passionate about SEO, AEO, GSO and the rapidly evolving search ecosystem, and excited by the learning curve ahead

  • You’re inquisitive, forward-looking and optimistic - someone who leans into change rather than resisting it

  • You’re a doer who takes ownership, executes efficiently and thrives in a fast-moving environment

  • You’re organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects with strong time management

  • You communicate clearly and confidently, with excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • You’re comfortable working with vulnerable audiences and understand the importance of respectful, human-centred communication

  • Background or strong interest in aged care, home care, disability care is highly regarded
