In partnership with CTA Training Specialists (RTO Code 31607), The Ville Resort-Casino is proud to offer senior students the opportunity to join our School-Based Culinary Apprenticeship Program.

If you have a genuine passion for cooking and a desire to build a career in the culinary arts, this program is the perfect starting point. As an apprentice, you’ll gain hands-on experience across a variety of our kitchens, learning professional cooking techniques and developing your skills under the guidance of experienced chefs.

Throughout the apprenticeship, you’ll work towards achieving your Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, while being immersed in a dynamic hospitality environment that values growth, creativity, and excellence.

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery

The SIT30821 Certificate III in Commercial Cookery prepares students for professional chef roles, covering advanced food preparation, menu planning, kitchen management and extensive practical training in commercial kitchens ensures proficiency in diverse cuisines.

This qualification also opens pathways to higher-level studies, such as the Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or Diploma of Hospitality Management.

The Commitment

To successfully complete the School-Based Apprenticeship, participants must commit to the following:

• Duration: 3-4 year program (for the full chef qualification)
• School Release: 1 day per week released from school to work at The Ville and 1 additional day every 8 weeks for theory and practical based training with CTA Training Specialists

• Entering Year 10 , 11 or 12 in 2026
• Passionate about hospitality and eager to learn in a hands-on environment
• Reliable and committed, with the ability to balance school, work, and study
