About the OpportunityWe’re seeking a skilled Child and Youth Worker to provide therapeutic interventions and counselling to children and young people affected by family violence. You’ll also support carers and collaborate with services to reduce the impact of violence in the community.
Key responsibilities include:Delivering trauma-informed counselling and group workSupporting carers through advocacy and information sharingSafety planning and crisis responseCoordinating with police and local servicesCommunity education and stakeholder engagement
About YouYou’ll bring both professional expertise and personal resilience to this role.What we’re looking for:Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or similarExperience working therapeutically with children and young peopleCommitment to feminist practice and systems-informed approachesAbility to manage complexity with empathy and cultural sensitivityOpenness to supervision, reflection, and ongoing learning
Additional experience with play therapy, sand tray, or other trauma-informed modalities will be highly regarded.
Requirements: C Class driver’s licence, Working With Children Card, and police check (or willingness to obtain).
