Position Summary

We’re on the hunt for a casual chef to join the team at our Black Hops Taproom. This role is perfect for someone with experience in a fast-paced kitchen, a passion for food, and an understanding of what it takes to complement a killer lineup of craft beers with tasty, taproom-style eats. Flexibility, reliability, and a can-do attitude are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a simple but high-quality taproom menu to order

• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following food safety standards

• Ensure consistency in food preparation and presentation

• Work efficiently during peak service periods

• Collaborate with bar and taproom staff to ensure smooth service

• Help develop new menu items or specials that pair well with our beers

• Manage stock rotation and report on low or missing items

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience working in a kitchen (minimum 2-3 years preferred)

• Confidence working independently and under pressure

• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices

• High attention to detail and commitment to quality

• Great communication skills and team spirit

• Passion for food, beer, and local community culture

• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and events as required

Working Conditions

• Casual role based at our taproom (likely Burleigh or Biggera Waters)

• Shifts will vary, with weekend and evening availability essential

• Fast-paced kitchen environment with physical demands (standing, lifting, etc.)
