As the Manager Property you’ll take the lead in managing Glenorchy City Council’s diverse property programs including leasing and licensing, land disposals, capital projects, and property administration in accordance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements. The role is also responsible for overseeing the maintenance of Council’s property portfolio to ensure assets are compliant, safe, and fit for purpose in line with Council, Work Health and Safety (WHS), and compliance standards.

What You’ll Do

Lead and manage the Property Department, ensuring effective delivery of Council’s property functions.Oversee leasing, licencing, disposals, and maintenance, with transparency and compliance.Drive capital and renewal property projects — on time, on budget, and to standard.Provide strategic insights, reports, and recommendations to inform Council’s decisions.Ensure all assets and operations meet WHS, environmental, and legislative obligations.Build and lead a high-performing team focused on accountability, innovation, and results.

What You’ll Bring To The Role

Tertiary qualification in Property, Law, Business, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience in a relevant field).Demonstrated extensive experience relevant to the Manager Property role, ideally in a Local Government Setting.Proven ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, policies and regulations.Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills, including high-level report writing skills and experience leading complex negotiationsExperience in the management and oversight of staff, projects and contracts.

Position Details

Permanent, full-time (38 hours per week)
