About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and creative Communications Officer to join our Executive Team on a permanent part-time basis, based in Lismore.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this role is responsible for ensuring Community Gateway’s communications are targeted, engaging and effective. You will work closely with management to develop and deliver communication and media strategies that promote our programs, services and strategic priorities across the region.

This role is primarily based at our Lismore office, with some travel required across the NSW Far North Coast.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

Develop and implement media and external communications strategies in consultation with managementPromote Community Gateway programs and services across digital, print and media platformsPrepare and distribute media releases approved by the CEODevelop communications strategies for events, forums and campaignsLead the production of organisational communication materials including brochures, e-newsletters and promotional resourcesMaintain and update Community Gateway websitesDevelop and coordinate social media activity, including digital and video contentBuild and maintain media and stakeholder relationshipsCoordinate the production of publications, including the Community Gateway Annual ReportMaintain accurate records and reporting in line with organisational proceduresProvide monthly qualitative and quantitative reportsIdentify and manage risks relevant to the role

About You

You are a proactive and organised communications professional with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Essential Requirements

Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing, public relations or a related field, with a minimum of two years’ relevant experienceDemonstrated experience in marketing, communications or public relations rolesExcellent written, interpersonal and communication skillsProven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesExperience implementing external communications strategiesHigh-level design skills using Adobe Suite, Illustrator, Canva and PhotoshopStrong computer skills, including website maintenance and content management
