Our Client
We are partnering with a NSW-based organisation with operations across Queensland to appoint a WHS Advisor into a newly created role following a recent acquisition.
Our client has been at the forefront of delivering integrated security solutions for more than 20 years, partnering with customers across Australia to design, install, maintain and support critical systems that protect people, assets and infrastructure. With deep capability across design, project management, installation and ongoing service, the business delivers solutions across Australia and New Zealand and continues to grow. As part of a proudly Australian-owned, employee-owned group, the organisation is powered by more than 3,000 people who are invested in what they build and how they work.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing structure, supporting compliance, and building strong working relationships in a changing environment!
The Leaders
You will report directly to a NSW-based Head of Safety, a highly experienced leader with deep industry and safety expertise who is passionate about developing people and helping teams thrive. She provides clear direction, genuine support and the space for you to take ownership, grow your capability and make an impact.
You will also be part of a national WHS team, working collaboratively with experienced advisors across the business to share knowledge, support one another and drive consistent, high-quality safety outcomes.
The Opportunity
This opportunity plays a key role in bringing safety and compliance practices up to standard, particularly at the Nerang site. The initial priority will be to stabilise and embed day-to-day WHS processes, close out outstanding audit actions and support the business through a period of change, before gradually extending support across additional sites, including some travel to Brisbane.
The role is predominantly office-based and includes a strong administrative and compliance focus. You will work closely with operational stakeholders to manage safety incidents, support workers compensation matters, assist with risk assessments and ensure WHS documentation, policies and procedures are maintained and accessible.
You will use the safety management system daily to manage reporting, approve audits completed by technicians and support audit readiness, including participation in ISO-related activities.
Day to day, you will:
- Deliver safety and quality inductions as part of the onboarding process for new employees.
- Coordinate contractor onboarding, including compliance and licence checks, and obtain approvals prior to engagement.
- Maintain accurate WHS compliance reporting for staff and equipment, ensuring non-compliance is identified and addressed through the safety management system.
- Keep WHS policies, procedures and compliance documentation current, accessible and fit for purpose.
- Support the rollout and ongoing integration of the Integrated Management System.
- Receive, manage and investigate safety incidents in line with internal processes.
- Manage and maintain customer induction portals for both internal employees and contractors.
- Promote safe behaviours, standards and attitudes through regular communication and engagement.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to maintaining ISO certifications (ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 9001).
- Conduct risk assessments as required across operational activities.
- Assist with internal audit programs and contribute to analysis and identification of improvement opportunities.
- Provide safety support on projects as directed.
- Contribute to the development of the quarterly safety newsletter.
- Coordinate safety training, including booking and management of required courses.
