Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Regional Manager / Senior Building Certifier at Tecon Australia.

The role will typically involve performing building certification functions under the NT Building Act and acting as an Airport Building Controller under the Airports Act. In addition, the Regional Manager will assist the Director's in effective business management including workflows, budgeting, resourcing and staff supervision.

As a senior member of the office, we expect this individual to build strong working relationships with current and future clients. Valuing our position in the NT market, the successful candidate will play a key role in growing our business and service offering across the NT.

The position is based in the Northern Territory, with the possibility of some work from home.

Whilst building certifiers are the preferred candidates, Tecon are willing to accept applications from individuals from other disciplines where the candidate can demonstrate transferable technical expertise, a strong understanding of regulatory or compliance‑driven environments as well as value to the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct all forms of BCA assessments within your level of expertise.

  • Deliver a broad range of consultancy services to our diverse client base.

  • Manage project files and contribute to a supportive, collaborative team environment.

  • Write and present cohesive, technically sound reports.

  • Assist in the delivery of our Airport Building Control services

Skills & Experience

  • AIBS accreditation as a Building Surveyor

  • Thorough knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Acts/Regulations.

  • A "can-do" attitude with a commitment to providing solution-focused paths for clients.

  • Proven ability to effectively negotiate and resolve disputes.

  • Strong organisational, time management, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic databases is essential.

  • Experience in either Local Government or private practice preferred but not essential
