Woodport Aged Care Plus Centre is a 138 bed picturesque aged care centre providing all levels of care including respite care. Our friendly central coast centre is just minutes away from Gosford City, Erina Shopping Centre, Terrigal Beach, public transport and local services. Our staff and chaplains go beyond the clinical to cater for the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of our residents.

We are looking for Casual Care Service Employees to work in our residential aged care centre located in the suburb of Erina, NSW, 2250.

It would be great if you were flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, e.g. morning, afternoon, night, weekend, public holiday.

About The Role

You will play key role in delivering our award-winning model of care and make a real difference to residents' quality of life.

In the role of Care Service Employee at The Salvation Army, you will build strong, positive relationships with our residents and be responsible for the delivery of personal care and assistance to meet individual needs of our consumers. The role is to deliver homely and loving environments by providing care with compassion, respect, integrity and dignity.

You will be able to work under limited supervision and in accordance with the resident's care plan to:

Ensure the privacy and dignity of residents is maintained at all times and that all personal interactions reflect respect and compassionAssist in managing medication utilising medication compliance aidsRecognise and respond to change in the condition of residents’ health & well-beingComplete simple wound dressingsImplement continence programsAttend to routine checks, i.e. blood pressure, temperature, pulse, blood sugarAssist in managing residents with diabetesMaintain accurate documentation throughout each shiftAssist in the development of resident care plans

About You

We Are Looking For Candidates With

An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote and support the values and ethos of The Salvation Army.Must have a Certificate III or IV in Aged Care and current First Aid CertificateExperience assisting with medicationAn understanding and commitment to the provision of truly person-centred careUnderstanding of WHS and infection control principlesAn understanding of residents’ changing care needs and how this translates in AN-ACC reviewsComputer literacy and experience with documentationExcellent communication skillsA commitment to continuous improvementAbility to work in a team environmentNational NDIS worker screening check
