Job Description Summary

Are you ready to elevate your career in renewable energy? Bango Wind Farm, located on Ngunnawal Country, 14km south of Boorowa and 30km north of Yass. The third largest operational wind farm in NSW. The 244MW wind farm became fully operational in 2023, featuring 46 GE Cypress Turbines, that produce enough electricity to power 144,000 homes and prevent 543,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually!

You’ll be working at the forefront of renewable energy, maintaining and troubleshooting wind turbines at some of the most exciting and innovative sites in the country. No two days are the same, you’ll be climbing turbines, solving real-world technical challenges, and helping to keep Australia’s wind power turning.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on turbines and site infrastructureFollow GE manuals, specifications, and work instructions to perform assigned tasks and inspectionsConduct maintenance, fault finding, and high voltage switching operations as requiredParticipate in annual maintenance, retrofit works, major component exchanges, and fault findingUse GE software tools to maintain reports and submit technical queriesEnsure compliance with JSA, LOTO, EHS policies, and report issues promptlyMake a conformance or non-conformance decision upon completion of inspectionsReport errors, violations, incidents, or problems immediately using GE reporting systemsEmbrace a 37.5-hour work week, with opportunities for overtime as approved and participate in on-call rosters for after-hours or weekend work as directed

Qualifications, Requirements & Competencies

Qualified Electrician or a qualified Mechanic/Mechanical Fitter with electrical aptitudeProficient in fault finding (electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment)Proficient in using computer systems and tools for monitoring work and managing documentationStrong written and verbal communication skills in EnglishA current unrestricted driver's licenseAbility to complete physically demanding tasks at heights, comfortable with heights (you’ll be climbing turbines, so you’ve got to have a head for heights and a love for fresh air!)A commitment to the highest safety standards, high performance, continuous improvement and delivering the right solutionsIndependent, solutions-focused, and well-organized in managing tasksOpen to travel to other sites as required
