The Southport School is a leading Anglican Day and Boarding School for boys situated on the banks of the beautiful Nerang River in the heart of the Gold Coast. The Southport School (TSS) has been established for 125 years and is committed to providing excellence in leadership, learning and teaching, pastoral care and extra-curricular endeavours within a balanced, holistic Christian environment. The School has a vibrant Boarding, Education, Cultural and Sporting program that extends across the full year and two campuses.

The Southport School is seeking to appoint an Events Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity as the role is dynamic with a diverse events calendar which includes the delivery of our extremely well subscribed and supported Foundation Business Breakfast program.

Are highly effective and able to work independently, and as well as being an integral and active member of our Marketing and Community Engagement team;Demonstrate initiative, proactivity and solution focused problem-solving skillsA high degree of attention to detail (data entry accuracy essential)Can evidence strong organisational and time management skills - the ability to manage competing priorities effectivelyProfessionally represents the school in managing event administration and event day management as well as support our internal and external event stakeholders; andDemonstrate a willingness to adapt and respond to the evolving nature of working in schools and the needs of our Community

This role is a full-time position (not term time), flexibility to work a 9 day fortnight around the event schedule with flexible hours available due to evenings and weekend commitments. We Are Seeking Candidates Who Have Recent Experience In

Event management (tertiary qualified beneficial though not essential) - events of min 200-600 paxBusiness administration (event contracts, business correspondence, agendas, minutes, business/marketing/content writing capability)Community engagement (experience working with many different stakeholders, profit and not-for-profit)

Successful candidates will be willing to support the Anglican Code of Conduct and Ethos of the School. Applicants must hold or be eligible to hold a working with children paid Blue Card and will be asked to provide a recent criminal history check certificate.
