About The Role
Position
This role identifies community social and wellbeing needs and delivers policies, programs, and projects that drive positive change, with a focus on disability inclusion, youth, and ageing. It provides expert advice on social impacts of land use proposals and Council initiatives, and supports informed decision-making through demographic analysis, needs assessments, and collaboration with government and non-government organisations within Ballina Shire.
Council will consider both full time and part time working arrangements, and will discuss further with the preferred candidates and interview stage.
To be successful you will bring
Behaviour that positively demonstrates Council’s values of creative, accessible, respect, energetic and safe.Tertiary qualifications and substantial experience in Social Policy/ Social or Behavioural Sciences/ Community Development or a related field.Previous work experience in contemporary social planning, human services planning, community development and community engagement processes.High-level project and program management skills, including ability to initiate, co-ordinate, monitor and evaluate projects/programs to meet agreed deadlines.Proven experience in the development of policies and planning documents including community engagement, research and report writing.Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team environment to facilitate, develop and manage projects and to review, evaluate, develop and implement strategic and policy documents.Excellent communication, engagement and negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders including Councillors, management, staff and the community.
The rewards
