Ideally positioned opposite Robina Public Hospital, Robina Private Hospital is the first and only private hospital to locate within the Robina Health Precinct and within close proximity to the precinct’s existing, extensive public services. Robina Private Hospital is a 90 bed private hospital with three specialist mental health and rehabilitation wards along with consultancy, outpatient, mental health and day rehabilitation programs and day surgery services.

The Robina Private Allied Health Team is currently seeking expressions of interest from nursing staff who interested in joining our dynamic and multidisciplinary older persons mental health team.

Hospital in the Home is a mental health home visit service provided as an alternative to hospital admission, or a part of the discharge plan from hospital. The role provides psychoeducation, relapse prevention planning, skills training in management of symptoms and medication, brief therapeutic interventions, vocational support and community engagement. Mental Health Home visits are scheduled on a weekly or fortnightly basis.

The successful applicant will also be required to work across the Memory Clinic service, providing comprehensive memory assessment and triage for those people experiencing memory loss as well as facilitating cognitive stimulation group therapy.

Mandatory Qualifications:

·         Current registration with Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

·         Minimum two (2) years clinical experience in older persons mental health nursing

·         Awareness and practice of legislation affecting nursing practice and health care

·         Strong focus on patient centred, evidence-based nursing care

·         Able to conduct a comprehensive and systematic nursing assessment

·         Demonstrated high standards of professional and ethical practice

·         Excellent collaboration and consultation skills with individuals, groups, significant others and a multidisciplinary health care team

·         Focus on service improvement and ongoing professional development, for delivery of excellent patient care and positive health outcomes

·         Promotes safety, security and personal integrity in the work place

·         Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative

·         Excellent communication skills

·         Sound technical skills with computers and related software
