Warrnambool Bowls Club is looking for an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and play a key role in the ongoing success of the Club.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys structure, accountability, and consistency, while still having the freedom to develop menus, themed nights, and specials that drive customer engagement.

About the Role

  • Lead daily kitchen operations and food service standards
  • Develop seasonal menus and themed dining events
  • Manage food cost, labour, and stock control to budget targets
  • Recruit, train, and develop kitchen staff
  • Maintain food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards
  • Cater for bistro trade, functions, and major Club events
  • Prepare structured monthly reports for management and the Board

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Solid understanding of food cost, labour efficiency, and stock control
  • Ability to plan ahead with costed rostering and menu cycles
  • Experience in club, pub, or high-volume hospitality preferred
