Comcare has an ongoing vacancy for an APS6 Senior WHS Inspector in the Regional Operations Team based in Darwin NT.

Overview of Team and Role

The Regional Operations Team is the service delivery arm of Regulatory Operations Group (ROG) and administers the Work, Health and Safety Act 2011 (WHS Act). Comcare is seeking a proactive and skilled Senior WHS Inspector to join our Regional Operations team in Darwin. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to safer workplaces across the Northern Territory, working in a region known for its diversity, complexity, and remote challenges.

As a Senior WHS Inspector, you will draw on your work health and safety qualifications and experience to support Comcare’s regulatory functions. These include providing information and advice, supporting duty holders, monitoring and assessing compliance, and taking enforcement action where necessary.

In this role, you will collaborate as part of a team and provide mentorship to less experienced inspectors. You will also engage and foster productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including employers, employees, unions, Health and Safety Representatives, complainants, and government agencies at all levels. 

You’ll work across a wide range of environments—from remote communities to urban centres—and engage with industries such as transport and logistics, Defence, and regional services. Your work will help ensure safer, healthier workplaces for all.

Mandatory qualifications

• Diploma of Government (Workplace Inspection) or obtain within 18 months of engagement.

Security Clearance

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
