Yamatji Marlpa Aboriginal Corporation (YMAC) is the Native Title Representative Body (NTRB), delivering native title and other services across the Pilbara, Mid West, Murchison and Gascoyne regions of Western Australia. YMAC is run by a First Nations board of directors, representing several native title groups, each of whom have their own language, culture, traditions and protocols.

YMAC services include native title claim and future act representation; heritage services; executive office, community, and economic development assistance; land administration, and natural resource management support.

About the Role:

YMAC is currently seeking a full time Business Support Officer to be based in our Geraldton office on a permanent contract. Reporting to the Senior Business Support Officer, this position has a significant focus on providing administrative support to the key organisational initiatives.

Responsibilities include supporting the various departments with a high-quality professional business aptitude, undertaking project works, meeting corporate and departmental reporting requirements, and undertaking administrative functions. The Business Support Officer will work collaboratively with the members of the Business Projects Support team in supporting the various departments.

About You:

You will be a team player and have the ability to provide effective administrative support within the Business Projects Support team. Ideally you will have a proactive approach and ability to provide initiative with a high level interpersonal and verbal / written communication skills. You will have experience with committees and consultants and in taking notes at meetings and preparing minutes and have capacity to drive/travel to remote and regional locations to support scheduled events and meetings.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum two years experience in a similar administrative role
  • Experience working with committees and consultants and in taking notes at meetings and preparing minutes
  • Have capacity to drive/travel to remote and regional locations to support scheduled events and meetings

Skills

  • High level interpersonal and verbal / written communication skills.
  • Advance knowledge in Microsoft Office suite and min typing speed 60wpm
  • Strong organisational and time management skills prioritising own work to agreed deadlines with ability to work under pressure in a busy working environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
