headspace Caloundra currently has an opening for a driven Senior Clinician, working as part of our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, youth-friendly care.

About the Team

headspace Caloundra delivers early intervention mental health support to young people aged 12–25 across a wide range of presentations including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, school disengagement, family stress and emerging complex needs.

About the Role

We currently have one (1) full-time, 12-month contract Parental leave contract opportunity, commencing in March 2026.

In this role, you will work within a team environment to provide triage, assessment, brief intervention and care coordination.

Reporting to the Team Leader, as a Senior Clinician you will:

  • Take a lead role in a multidisciplinary team delivering evidence-based interventions, working collaboratively with young people, their families and their supports.
  • Provide clinical leadership to clinicians and day-to-day shift coordination, role-modelling organisational values.
  • Manage a clinical caseload of young people with mental health presentations, providing trauma-informed therapeutic interventions based on current best-practice guidelines.
  • Facilitate and support clinicians and students to deliver group programs for young people.
  • Establish and maintain strong networks with relevant organisations and stakeholders.

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant health service discipline such as Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Mental Health Nursing, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a senior role within the mental health field.
  • Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Substantial demonstrated experience in mental health care, including completion of high-quality mental health assessments, risk assessment and safety planning, treatment planning, psychological interventions, and care coordination.
  • Evidence of training and experience in relevant trauma-informed mental health therapies.
  • A high level of interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), problem-solving and negotiation skills, and demonstrated ability to consult, liaise and negotiate with team members, other professionals and outside agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with young people, advocate on their behalf, and establish and maintain collaborative relationships with clients, carers and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver individual or group-based skills-training activities to assist clients’ psychosocial functioning (e.g., life skills, anger management, problem solving, conflict resolution, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and function autonomously while being able to effectively work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to use a desktop computer, with familiarity with the Microsoft Windows environment and Microsoft Office applications, and capacity to learn a new clinical software package for keeping electronic client records

The gross annual salary for this role ranges between $100,785.48 and $105,346.29 plus super.

Salary will depend on skills, knowledge and experience. We also offer:
