About the Role
You’ll be based primarily on The Bilwon Farm in Mareeba, supporting children and young people aged 8–17 and their families through strengths-based, culturally safe case management and structured on-farm engagement.
In this hands-on role, you’ll complete intake and assessment, develop and review case plans, coordinate referrals, and provide consistent mentoring and practical support to help participants build wellbeing, routine, life skills and positive pathways.
You’ll also work closely with Youth Workers and the wider team to support the planning and delivery of farm-based programs, including before and after school activities and school holiday programs. You will assist with day-to-day operations by supporting staff coordination, including rostering and communicating staffing needs to ensure safe, consistent coverage for programs, camps and activities.
Key responsibilities include:

Build positive and culturally safe relationships with participants and families

Complete intake, assess participant needs, and develop case plans

Provide mentoring, practical support, and ongoing follow-up

Coordinate referrals and advocate for access to services and supports

Support the delivery of farm-based programs, including before/after school and holiday programs

Coordinate day-to-day program delivery with Youth Workers and assist with rostering/staff coverage

Maintain accurate documentation, case notes, and required reporting

Uphold confidentiality, safety standards and child-safe practices
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
-
Experienced in case management, youth support, mentoring or participant services
-
Confident working alongside young people with a calm and consistent approach
-
Organised and able to manage competing priorities
-
Comfortable coordinating staff and supporting team delivery
-
Respectful, culturally aware and committed to creating culturally safe environments
What we are looking for
-
Certificate IV or higher in Community Services, Counselling, Youth Work or related field.

Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural protocols.

Current National Police Check, Blue Card, First Aid and CPR.

Current Driver Licence (manual preferred).

Experience working with culturally diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, will be highly regarded.
