NQ Game Meats Pty Ltd is seeking a team of skilled meat workers to join our team in Townsville, Qld. This is an exciting opportunity for skilled and experienced meat workers looking for a change. We offer full time and permanent positions.  

Game meat such as our wild-caught venison and kangaroo is leaner, healthier and more nutritious than the farmed meat alternatives. It also boasts rich and natural flavours and it is far more environmentally sustainable. At NQ Game Meats, we specialize in providing 100% game meat. Our products are sourced in Australia, ensuring high-quality, ethically harvested game meat that’s natural, lean, and sustainable. 

All of products are processed on site in our facilities. As skilled meat workers, you will be responsible for delivering consistently high-quality game meat cuts such as Kangaroo Rump, Shank, Loins and Tail as well as Venison Australian Chital Back Strap Steak, Rump, Topside, Silverside and Shanks. We take safety seriously and you must ensure you take care of your health and safety or that of others at all times. Working in our boning room, your duties include: 

• Skins game carcass and removes internal organs (if not field dressed) for processing;
• Slits open, eviscerates and cuts carcass into halves or quarters; 
• Move game carcass using overhead supply rails to the for deboning  
• Cuts game meat to separate meat, fat and tissue from around bones; 
• Washes, scrapes and trims blood and other foreign substance from game meat; 
• Cuts game meats into primal meat cuts, such as rumps, flanks and shoulders or smaller retail cuts. 
• Maintain high standard of hygiene and adhere to game meat biosecurity protocols throughout processing.
• Prepare game meat for packing and marketing; 

Skills and Experience: 

• 2 + years of previous experience in a similar role within the meat industry;
• Relevant Certificate II or II in meat processing or equivalent;
• Ability to work in a fast paced and repetitive environment 
• Reliable, committed, punctual and willing to learn; 
• Physically fit; 
• Demonstrated ability to work without supervision; 
• Ability to work as a part of a team;
