ABOUT THE ROLE
The Junior IT System Administrator provides essential IT support across our multi-site operations, ensuring day-to-day technology systems, hardware, and software operate smoothly. This is an entry-level role suited to someone early in their IT career with a clear development path from user support and basic sys admin toward operational technology networking, on-prem and cloud based provisioning, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure design.
Reporting to the CTO, your responsibilities will be varied and will grow over time as skills and experience develop
RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide responsive IT support through ticketing systems, troubleshooting hardware, software, and configuration tasks across office and operations teams

Configure and deploy endpoint devices, manage hardware procurement and lifecycle, and coordinate employee onboarding/offboarding processes

Assist with administration of virtualization platforms, server infrastructure, and remote management and monitoring systems

Support operational technology network infrastructure including network segmentation, access control, and industrial network hardening

Maintain IT documentation, network diagrams, standard operating procedures, and asset management records

Participate in cybersecurity maintenance across IT and OT environments, following established security standards
REQUIREMENTS

Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Information Technology, Network Administration, or related field (or currently pursuing tertiary education). Relevant vendor certifications highly valued

Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, routing, switching, and firewall concepts (professional or substantial personal project experience)

Experience in IT support, helpdesk, or junior systems administration advantageous

Working knowledge of Windows and Linux server operating systems

Familiarity with virtualization concepts and hypervisor technologies

Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with logical troubleshooting methodology

Exceptional attention to detail and excellent communication skills

Proactive, reliable approach with ability to work autonomously and within a team

Genuine passion for technology with demonstrated depth of interest in networking and systems administration

Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Gold Coast region
