Commercial Hotel Broadford is a long-standing and highly regarded hospitality venue in Broadford, Victoria, widely recognised as a key gathering place for the local community. This traditional Australian hotel offers a public bar, family-friendly bistro, beer garden, and bottle shop, along with weekly specials, live sports, and relaxed dining enjoyed by locals and visitors. They are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Cook to support and enhance kitchen operations.
This hands-on role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and is dedicated to consistently delivering high-quality food and service. The annual salary for the Cook position is $76,000 to 77,500 plus superannuation. Duties include:
- Inspecting ingredients and food supplies to ensure freshness, quality, and compliance with food safety standards.
- Monitoring and adjusting temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment to achieve optimal cooking results.
- Preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards.
- Seasoning and flavouring food appropriately throughout the cooking process.
- Portioning meals accurately, plating food, and finishing dishes with sauces, gravies, and garnishes to presentation standards.
- Storing food safely in temperature-controlled environments in line with hygiene and food safety regulations.
- Preparing meals to accommodate special dietary and cultural requirements.
- May assist with menu planning and estimating food and ingredient requirements.
- May train and supervise junior kitchen staff and apprentices to ensure consistent kitchen operations.
Qualifications:
- Should possess a Certificate III, IV, and a Diploma in Commercial Cookery.
- Must have over three (3) years of experience in a similar setting.
