The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of the fabrication, installation and maintenance of a wide variety of equipment, including, but not limited to the ability to carry out routine and emergency field maintenance and repairs, be responsible for the general fabrication of structural steel components and undertake the installation of new and fabricated components and equipment.

Essential Technical Duties:

  • Minimum Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications.
  • Ability to read and evaluate drawings and blueprints to determine specific job requirements (location, position and dimensions) for fabrication and perform basic calculations.
  • Metal fabrication skills and experience (machining/ TIG welding).
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment - advantageous.
  • Select the appropriate materials, methods, equipment and tools necessary to complete the job.
  • Use a range of machinery, hand tools, welding equipment and machines with good manual dexterity.
  • Identify faults and use mechanical aptitude to determine corrective outcomes.
  • Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment.
  • Responsible for performing assigned duties in a safe and timely manner.
  • Ability to liaise with stakeholders and customers in a professional manner.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work autonomously.
  • Adhere to and promote ATS's high Safety and Environmental standards.
  • Ability to work effectively during times of unplanned events.
  • Promote teamwork, impart skills, share knowledge and participate in training and meetings.

To be considered for this position you will need:

  • a current manual QLD drivers licence.
  • a current construction white card.
  • LF Forklift Licence - desirable, but not mandatory.
  • to be physically fit and maintain that level of fitness and be able to perform manual work (as physical work and manual handling will be involved); and excellent communication skills.
  • to be reliable, punctual and keen to work in varying environments and present on time for work each day and be prepared to works weekends and outside of normal hours as and when required.
  • to understand safety requirements and applicable safety policies.
  • to work well in both team or unsupervised environments.
  • To complete the 3-month probation period, the successful applicant will establish themselves as a valuable team member with effective leadership skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Casual

Pay: $75,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
