About The Role

We are seeking a Safety and Compliance Superintendent to play a crucial role in supporting our operations at Maules Creek Coal. Working closely with the Mining Engineering Manager and H&S team, you will ensure site compliance to legislation and the site Safety Management System. This is a pivotal role contributing to the ongoing safety and success of our operation.

This is a site-based role (Gunnedah, NSW) working a 9-day fortnight. Relocation assistance & temporary accommodation is supplied.

What You’ll Do

Bringing a sound knowledge of industry best practice and regulatory requirements, key responsibilities will include;Monitor and review of the Safety Management Systems to ensure complianceFacilitate ICAMS and other investigations to determine root cause of incidentsCollaborate with the legal team and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders of Whitehaven CoalSupport the development of a safety culture where safety is an integral part of the way we workManage expenditure in alignment with allocated budgets and identify opportunities to reduce costs

What You’ll Bring

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety and extensive relevant experience (preferably in the mining industry)Understanding of NSW WHS Mines and Petroleum Act and RegulationsICAM qualification and investigation facilitation experience Highly developed computer literacy, presentation and project management skillsAdherence to and active participation of our STRIVE Values (Safety, Teamwork, Respect, Integrity, Value, Excellence) Live local to the area or willingness to relocate (assistance provided)
