We are a large Australian family-owned and operated Holiday Village looking for a motivated and experienced Gardens/Grounds Maintenance & Handyperson to join our Ashmore Palms Holiday Village Team.

The Job
As part of the maintenance and grounds team, you'll have a diverse role involving a wide variety of tasks critical to the running of a large-scale holiday village. 

It is expected that the successful applicant with possess a combination of skills and experience that complements and supports Grounds functions and the business as a whole.  Applicants will be required to be reliable, extremely safety orientated and able to work unsupervised in a team environment.

Experience within the tourism, hospitality and hotel/resort industries is an advantage.

This is an annualised salaried position and requires commitment to rotating weekend shifts.

Duties include 

  • Maintain all external areas of the Holiday Village to a high standard.

  • Conduct regular inspections of the grounds to identify areas needing attention and improvement.

  • Follow seasonal landscaping plans, including planting, pruning, fertilizing, irrigation, mulching, weeding and cleaning schedules.

  • Ensure the timely removal of litter, debris and garden waste to maintain a clean and safe environment.

  • Assist to ensure rubbish is removed / stored / collected / recycled as efficiently and hygienically as possible.

  • Ensure BBQ’s are cleaned daily.

  • Promote a culture of safety and excellence.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.

  • Valid QLD manual driver’s licence

  • Australian resident or unrestricted work rights

  • Qualification in horticulture, landscaping, or related field highly desired

  • Ability to operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment.

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
