Roller Derby Heaven (RDH) has been supporting Australia’s skate scene for over 30 years, from roller derby and recreational skating to inline, skateboards, and scooters. We’re a family-owned, grassroots business based in Morisset, NSW, and we’re passionate about giving skaters of all kinds access to the best gear, honest advice, and great service.

We’re looking for a Shop Assistant to help run our Morisset store alongside our Store Manager and owners. This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident in customer service who is happy to take responsibility, work independently, and help keep the shop running smoothly day to day.

Applicants of any age are welcome, provided they have solid customer service experience.

About the Role

This is a customer-facing retail role where you’ll be involved in all aspects of running a skate shop, from helping customers choose the right gear to keeping the store organised and presentable.

Hours:

• Starting at 10–15 hours per week
• Mainly Wednesdays and Saturdays
• Additional hours may be available over time

A driver’s licence is essential, as you’ll need reliable transport to get to work in Morisset.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist customers in-store with friendly, confident service
• Provide advice on skates, skateboards, scooters, and safety gear
• Assist with fittings for skates, scooters, and skateboards
• Handle sales and transactions using the POS system
• Answer phone calls and respond to online enquiries (email/website)
• Keep the store clean, tidy, and well-stocked
• Set up and maintain displays and promotions
• Work closely with the Store Manager and owners to support daily operations

What We’re Looking For

• Proven customer service experience (retail, hospitality, or similar)
• Confident communicating with customers of all ages
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Willingness to learn product knowledge and fitting skills
• Basic computer skills and comfort using online systems
• A genuine interest or experience in skating, skateboards, or scooters is highly regarded but not essential.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport (essential)

• Pay: In line with the Retail Award, based on experience
