About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex infrastructure, asset renewal and transformation projects within a large operational environment supporting essential services. This role is responsible for end-to-end project delivery, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and in accordance with governance, regulatory and risk frameworks typical of a critical infrastructure organisation.
The Right Candidate Will deliver complex projects with calm control and sharp comms.
And run delivery end-to-end with a strong PMO rhythm—tight planning, clean reporting, and practical issue resolution. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and delivery of major infrastructure and asset-based projects, from initiation through to commissioning and close-out
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, resourcing plans and risk registers
- Provide strong stakeholder management across internal operational teams, engineering, vendors, regulators and executive leadership
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, governance and assurance frameworks
- Manage procurement activities including RFPs, contract negotiation and vendor performance
- Report on project performance, milestones, risks and issues using formal governance forums
- Drive continuous improvement in project delivery practices and documentation standards
- Mentor and support project team members and junior project managers where required
Skills & Experience
- 7+ years’ experience delivering complex projects in infrastructure, utilities, energy, transport, or large asset-intensive organisations
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-disciplinary technical teams
- Own scope, schedule, cost and quality for assigned projects
- Manage vendors/contractors and coordinate internal delivery resources
- Maintain RAID, action registers and governance packs
- Drive stakeholder engagement and delivery transparency
- Strong understanding of project governance, risk management and financial controls
- Proven ability to operate in regulated or safety-critical environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level reporting
- Experience working in regional or remote operating environments highly regarded
- Awareness of cloud platforms, IoT integrations and enterprise systems integration
