Multiple Trainer & Assessor Roles – Trades, Construction, Management & Hospitality

Geelong & Melbourne, VIC Full-time / Part-time / Casual (Weekend availability required for most roles)

Ashford College is a growing RTO delivering high-quality vocational education to domestic and international students across Geelong and Melbourne. We are currently seeking experienced and motivated Trainers & Assessors across multiple qualifications to join our academic team.

We are recruiting for the following programs:

  • CPC30620 Certificate III in Painting and Decorating
  • CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry
  • MSF30320 Certificate III in Cabinet

Making and Timber Technology

  • CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building)
  • BSB80120 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning)
  • SIT50220 Diploma of Hospitality Management

About the Roles

Depending on your trade or discipline, you will be responsible for delivering classroom-based theory and hands-on practical training, conducting assessments, maintaining compliance documentation, and supporting student learning outcomes in a vocational training environment.

You may be involved in weekday and/or weekend delivery across our Geelong and Melbourne campuses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver face-to-face theory and practical training sessions
  • Assess student competency in line with training package requirements
  • Maintain accurate training, assessment, and attendance records
  • Ensure compliance with ASQA, CRICOS, and RTO standards
  • Uphold strong WHS and workshop safety practices (where applicable)
  • Participate in validation, moderation, and continuous improvement
  • Provide academic support and guidance to students
  • Support weekend delivery schedules and international student cohorts

Essential Requirements (role dependent)

  • Vocational competency relevant to the qualification applied for
  • TAE40122 (or higher)
  • Proven experience delivering vocational education and training
  • Strong understanding of training packages and assessment requirements
  • Ability to maintain compliant training and assessment documentation
  • Strong communication and student engagement skills
  • Availability to work weekends (for trade and hospitality roles)

Desirable (depending on role)

  • Experience delivering diploma or graduate diploma qualifications
  • Strong workshop supervision and WHS knowledge (trade roles)
  • Industry experience in construction, cabinet making, hospitality, or management
  • Knowledge of NCC, contracts, construction management, or hospitality operations
  • Experience working with international students
  • Familiarity with student management systems (e.g., aXcelerate)
  • Understanding of ASQA and CRICOS compliance requirements
