About the Role
Our Design & Placemaking Services Branch provides expert solutions and designs to manage civil assets and services across the Sunshine Coast. We focus on delivering innovative, sustainable outcomes that support council’s vision of being Australia’s most sustainable region – healthy, smart, creative. Working here means contributing to projects that make a real difference to our community.
As a Civil Designer, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality civil designs and construction documentation for council’s capital works program. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, collaborate with experienced engineers, and help shape the infrastructure that supports our growing region.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist with the delivery of cost-effective civil designs and construction documentation
· Review urban and rural road designs, cost estimates, and technical documentation
· Investigate and analyse data to ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards
· Collaborate with stakeholders and maintain design quality management processes
About you
You bring a strong foundation in civil engineering and a passion for creating practical, sustainable designs.
You’re skilled in using design software like AutoCAD and 12d Model to deliver accurate, efficient solutions.
You have a solid understanding of road design standards and guidelines, including Austroads and QUDM.
You’re a great communicator who thrives in a collaborative environment and can engage confidently with stakeholders.
