Ms Liza Butler MP is the State Member for South Coast in the NSW Parliament.
About the position
The South Coast Electorate Office is seeking to establish a pool of casual staff for short-term relief to cover staff leave. You will help constituents resolve concerns and carry out administrative tasks. We are also seeking people who can assist with media and research.
The roles include:
- Supporting constituents face to face, over the phone and via email.
- Updating database and records
- Limited diary management
- General office duties
- Media liaison and research (not essential)
Selection Criteria
The following Selection Criteria form a specific part of the selection process. Applicants for this role are required to address each of these items specifically in their application.
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to relate to others with empathy and consideration as well as to liaise with community groups, government and non-government organisations, ministerial offices and the media.
- Excellent writing skills including the ability to prepare correspondence, briefing notes, submissions, speeches, newsletters and media releases.
- Demonstrated superior organisational skills to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated capacity to exercise sound judgement and ability to perform at a high standard under limited supervision and within a team environment.
- Good word processing/keyboard and computer skills in an office environment.
- The ability to prepare briefing notes, submissions, speeches, newsletters and media releases, while not essential will be highly regarded
